Books published in English (including translations) in the United States with pub dates within the last five years, from 2009 through August 2017 will be considered. It is essential that The Authors’ Zone receive the books as early in the year as possible to allow time to consider all titles.
The Authors’ Zone author awards ceremony is not just about being acknowledged for your great book, it’s also about connecting with like-minded people. You’ll meet other authors, writers, graphic designers, publishers, editors, bookstore owners- listen to a very entertaining and interesting keynote speaker- and enjoy good food at the Rivers Club in Pittsburgh.

The Authors’ Zone (TAZ) will provide awards in seven categories: Fiction, General Nonfiction, Biography/Autobiography, Poetry, Business, Children’s books and an award for ebooks.
Books should be published in English (including translations) in the United States and contain an ISBN number. Authors from Southwestern PA and books that are written about that area will be considered. It is essential that TAZ receive the books as early in the year as possible to allow time to consider all titles. The deadline for submissions is September 13, 2017.
Publishers are welcome to bring books to TAZ’s attention. The book and media awards will be presented at the October awards ceremony.
The following are eligible:
- Full-length books of fiction and nonfiction
- Collections of short stories and collections of essays by one author
- Collected and selected poems by one author
- Children’s books
- Self-published books
- Business Books
Publishers must complete the online entry form and submit payment by September 13, 2017. Please send books as early as possible. Judges are not obligated to consider books that arrive after September 13, 2017.
- There is a $99 entry fee for each title submitted. This fee will also include a ticket to the Awards Ceremony. Discount for multiple books.
- Accepted forms of payment include PayPal and credit card or check. Checks should be made out to The Authors’ Zone. Payment is due when the book is submitted

The following are NOT eligible:
- English translations of books originally written in other languages.
- Anthologies containing work written by multiple authors
